blessed jass...

hmm went for supervisors' nite at school followed by a class gathering at Modesto's... guess jass is still not good at meeting new ppl... i dun like these kinds of events... felt intimidated... something to work on....

but.... hehe... i discovered something!

hehe... not only did i got e scholarship... i found out that another 2 ppl in the new cohort also applied for the scholarship! and i still got it! think they only give out one each time... truly blessed... thank the Lord for His providence! it's amazing! remembering that it was a panel of 8 interviewers! hehe...

just like what jl says and i have realised myself previously... the timing is so divine and God really has plans for both of us! if i had applied a year earlier... we would have become competitors... and i know she would then have gotten me and i would have not... hehe...

dear God... once again.. thank You...

snoopy sooooo funny lah!

haha... never knew snoopy can be so irritating...haha...

PEANUTS!

hehe... came across this... remembered i posted a pic of this before too...

jass is feeling anxious n dunno-what-to-do...

hmmm... am i feeling anxious? irritated? bored? tired? worried? or what? perhaps it is a bag of mixed feelings... that made me suddenly googled for "holiday blues" and i found this! hehe...

Charlie Brown felt so depressed.
"I just don’t understand Christmas.
Instead of feeling happy, I feel sort of let down."

3 weeks of holidays have passed... holidays feel different when you are e only one having holidays... haha... think alot of people will want to bish me for this... hehe... but it is true... at least that's how i felt now... haha...

perhaps it's time to see what i have done so far... to examine if i have spent my time fruitfully! let's see... i have...
  • gone for a short trip with crow and fang...
  • started reading Thanks for the Memories by Cecelia Ahern...
  • worked on my cross-stitch and finishing it...
  • finished more than 40 episodes of a recorded korean drama (and it is still showing! wow!)...
  • gone for scholarship interview (results will be out early next week! adding to the anxiety!)
  • sent email to prospective clinical internship placement for next term (but they have not replied and i have not followed up! gonna have to do it this coming week!)
  • gone for 2 meetings with my lect on this exciting research...
  • did 3 days of relief teaching...
hmmm.... these are the bigger items... actually there are still many things to do! even overdue stuff... perhaps i nuaed too much too... sigh...

a nice french film...

haha... a can't sit still jass.... it has been one plus week only and i am feeling bored!

thank God for jie today... if not i think i will go mad at home... cooped up...

tmr is big day for me... it will affect my future career... ask me if i am prepared... i dunno ah! pray that God will grant me favour with the ppl i am going to meet... haha.. pray that like what h says... i have the face... haha... hmm... i guess i do feel better after trimming my eyebrow... to look more presentable at least! haha... but at the end of the day... really need to depend all my prayer angels....

also watched a very nice and simple yet inspirational french film... here it is!
jie and i both love the scenery and nature... wish we were there... as well as the way of life... simple and slow... yet not mundane... singapore is too fast... till you feel that you have stopped trying to catch up...
there are also very nice and soothing music... not fanciful at all but so charming...
the little boy in the film is so cute! hehe... jie likes him! and the film also brought out the positivity of clowns... they are really happy clowns....
in summary... one of the best films i have ever watched...

Flush Toy Episode #3

tada! can't sleep! so shall cont on this series! hehe...

introducing Gobi and 毛弟! hehe.... Gobi was purchased by my sis and i from the science centre when we went on a school excursion (a love @ first sight! hehe... he's so cute right?!) while 毛弟 was a birthday present from my secondary friends! haha.. do you know 毛弟? he was a character from the cartoon 宇宙小毛球! i love him! hehe... he was a very funny character... the youngest brother of 小毛球 who always said "对对, 对对"! hehe...

i wonder what would be the reactions of my secondary friends if they were to see this blog entry... haha... they would think i am nuts! haha...

my little train...

afterthoughts....

this was the train i brought to one of the therapy sessions with this little boy... initially it was really difficult to see what i would be able to do for him in therapy... due to his background... he was a very disturbed and sad child... he was hyper-vigilance at all times... obviously uncomfortable with my presence in the room... it was also hard for him to comprehend the relationship i was building with him... though we started with art... it seemed that he needed more than that... he also definitely needed to do what he wanted to do instead of being told what to do...

the first two sessions of painting (by his choice) led to a many pieces of 'black papers' as he mixed all the colours together... were the sessions chaotic or validating? it was later that he hinted that he has used the colours because i prepared for him... he did it to please me... just as he has wanted to please the adults around him... as we moved in therapy he was able to tell me not to prepare paints as he would not want to use them... was it too chaotic for him? did he feel he would get out of control using them?

many weeks went on with him playing with the toy trains and some trucks... my role was unobtrusive... reflecting what he said during those sessions yet not pushing for more... there were many moments of silence... there were also sessions of "destruction" whereby all characters (including me and himself) died in his play.... there were also "bad" moments where sessions ended in a chaos filled with anger (in him) and defeat (in me)....

but at the end of the day it was an amazing journey of how he progressed throughout the 15 sessions we had... not only did he in the end felt comfortable with my presence... he also felt it was ok to include me in his play and art... his coped better with his behaviour and relationships with others as we resolved some of his inner conflicts in the sessions through his play and art process... and the relationship we have built... he needed to be who he wanted to be... a child needs to feel that he can truly be a child and is a child...

the session ended with him painting a wooden truck to take away with him... to have something to take away... it was then that i wondered if he had colour blindness... due to some of his behaviours and questions... hopefully this has been checked out for him...

four months of work with a child is really not enough... but i hope i have been helpful and that the sessions have somehow empowered him....

It's from The Color Career Counselor, powered by The Dewey Color System -- the world's only validated, non-language color-based career testing instrument -- uses color preferences to determine successful career paths. Dewey Sadka, author of "The Dewey Color System," says using colors instead of a questionnaire eliminates the chasm between self-perception and self-truth and reveals your core motivations.
