1 Samuel 16:7
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

Reflection...
Today there was a student who was very difficult to handle and I can understand why adults around her may be so angry. But I thought since we teach the students that all feelings are legitimate and what is important is how we respond to the feelings, then we should walk the talk and model for them?
Besides I really wonder if getting angry till one gets out of control is helpful for the student? Isn't it true that we are often working with limitations and it is important to recognise and acknowledge the limitations. It is definitely not using the limitations as an excuse for not doing anything about it, but it will never be about disregarding the limitations as well. Now I really would want to ask what would the person do then? If we are not doing enough, I don't mind knowing and doing more, but I know exactly that we are doing what we can and we can only do what we can.
I saw how parallel process took place today and I am thankful I am so aware. Just as S said... I handled well and the person would feel ashamed if there is a moment of reflection.
As adults helping children, know that your words and actions matter. You either break or build a child. It is important and worthwhile to be mindful of your emotions, actions and limitations. A precious insight I have always reminded myself is not to do anything to a child that I would regret later. With that, it not only protects the children I work with but it also protects myself.
